Fantastic Reflections

Fantastic reflections of a multichromatic world

homeboynytesytes467aceSo Angelus linked me with this picture and I thought it was hilarious. I see gangsters shooting like this in movies all the time, but when I went shooting at the range it was actually pretty hard to aim with the gun sideways. I suppose if you just want to spray the place for cover rather than actually taking down the people chasing you, it’d be plenty. After taking a few of my friends shooting I think most people would piss their pants just hearing that many gunshots going off around them.

Our radios at work play KOST 103.5FM and a song I hadn’t heard came up. It was a really sad song and made me wonder why such a sad song would be played during such a festive season. Anyhow, a quick search online found the song and lyrics and I now understand how beautiful the song is.

Christmas Shoes
Artist: Bob Carlisle
Album: Other Songs

It was almost Christmas time
There I stood in another line
Trying to buy that last gift or two
I’m really in the Christmas mood
Standing right in front of me
Was a little boy waiting anxiously
Pacing around like little boys do
And in his hands he held
A pair of shoes

And his clothes were worn and old
He was dirty from head to toe
And when it came his time to pay
I couldn’t believe what I heard him say

Sir I wanna buy these shoes for my Momma please
It’s Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry Sir?
Daddy says there’s not much time
You see, she’s been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes will make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful
If Momma meets Jesus, tonight.

Seems I don’t write enough so I’ll take this chance to get back into blogging. っていうか・・・悩み事があるからまた書くつもりです。

Omikuji 2004

While in Japan I got an "omikuji" fortune reading a few days into the new year. It was not good. I am unlucky this year and prone to disaster. If you’re weak in spirit or unlucky already, stay away from me this year.

My my… it sure has been a long time. News for anyone who cares: anikii will move to my own private server shortly and a new domain will be professionally hosted (kirameki.org)

I’ve been thinking about redesigning anikii.com in terms of front-end and back-end. Will definitely move literature into MySQL and load them with PHP4. Thing is, I have work and school and random private matters to attend to, so converting the whole site will take some time.

Must make a more efficient way of getting submissions of literature. Anyone with ideas, comments, suggestions, whatever, please let me know. I am quite open minded.

With all said, look forward to the new (finally updated) anikii.com. Also, I don’t know how I got so many unique hits in June, but thank you all. After the changes, please visit again.

Still no phone yet. Hopefully Verizon will give me a few dollars off my bill.

FIRE!

On April 30, 2002 at 1:30AM an unknown little flame began to grow. The location was my apartment complex’s main building. I’m in building 9, the closest building to it. Soon after seeing the smoke and glow, I called 911 for help. As we wait for the fire fighters to show up, I grabbed my backpack and stuffed some important documents including my birth certificate, social security card, passport, plane tickets, and all my "plastic." Luckily, the fire did not spread to any other building, thanks to Hilo’s fire fighters.

Wow, what an experience. I guess there’s a first time for everything. This is my first time witnessing a raging blaze like that. It was beautiful (mind of a pyro) and costly (mind of a businessman) and depressing (mind of someone normal) all at the same time. I’ll post my pictures after getting them developed.

Currently there’s no phone. There was no power until a few hours after the fire was contained. I’m lucky to still have cable modem working. I thought the gateways would’ve been burned to a crisp since everything’s in the main building.

INTERNET!

Yay! I finally got internet service at home.

Back to Hawaii… and today’s the first day of school. Mondays are going to be hectic for me. Starting off at 10 with Astronomy for an hour, followed by a 3 hour break until Calculus at 2PM. at 3, I head for Communications for an hour and a half and have some time to eat dinner right before my 3 hour Astronomy lab. I’ll be home probably either 9:30 or 10:30. That’s 11:30 or 12:30 for you Cali people. Benkyou!!! Urashima sempai… tasukete.

Saw The Game last night in my neighbor’s room. Pretty cool movie.
